How do I set up my MS SQL Server for backup?
With the MS SQL Server Backup you can back up databases of your Microsoft SQL Server.
The airbackup Client uses the backup option of the Microsoft SQL Server to prepare a backup file for backing up MS SQL databases. This *.bkf file is by default stored in C:\Windows\Temp by the airbackup Client. Before starting the backup, make sure that there is sufficient disk space available. Select an alternative location with sufficient space the airbackup Client options.
Note: airbackup backs up only databases that support VSS.
Note: Make sure that the SQL Server VSS Writer service is running before starting the backup.
To check if the service SQL Server VSS Writer is running, proceed as follows:
- Open the View local services tool.
- In the list of all services, check if the status for the service SQL Server Vss Writer is Running.
- If not, select the service.
- Click the Start button.
- The necessary service is running.
